Spooks & Ghouls: Vintage

Autumn is my favorite time of year! I love when the weather grows a little cooler and the leaves change colors. It’s time for cups of hot chai tea, slippers, and fluffy sweaters.
Halloween has always held wonderful memories. When I was young, I would think about what I wanted to dress up as weeks ahead of time. And when my own children were small, I would start decorating the house right after school started in September.
Naturally, a Halloween collection that was both nostalgic and a little modern was in order. I have a very eclectic style and love to combine elements that normally don’t go together (like green, brown, and orange ghosts). I’m very pleased with how this collection came together and love the nod to the past with the use of vintage-style images.
Following are some embellishment and letter stickers that I created to go along with the Spooks & Ghouls: Vintage Collections
One of my favorite prints was created using an illustration of skulls. I added in some modified occult symbols to give it a witchy feel. The design was inspired by vintage wallpaper. I call this one Skull Craft:
I used some of the Skull Craft patterned paper in the following Halloween layout:
As part of this line, I created a 12 x 12-inch design that could be cut apart into 4 x 6-inch cards. Some of the elements can also be used for embellishments. In the layout above, I used the haunted house, the “H” is for Halloween and the spooky tree. I also used some of the stickers that I created for this line.
Another of my favorite patterns is the flying ghosts. I was inspired by Disney’s Haunted House.
In the following layout, I used the ghosts, along with other papers and embellishments from the Spooks & Ghouls: Vintage Collection.
Following is a couple of Halloween card ideas using these patterns:
I hope you enjoyed looking at the Halloween patterns that I created. Be sure to check out the next post where I share the Spooks & Ghouls: Classic Collection.
