Outdoor Long Exposure at Night.
Experimenting with a long exposure using lights on a dark night. This was so. much. fun. I really feel like experimenting with light in the dark really got my creative juices flowing.
In this photo, my friend Sydney Jolley struck a dance pose while we surrounded her with light:
The same type of light (lights attached to a bicycle wheel) was used to create this photo composite (3 photos combined ) of my friend, Douglas Phan.
In this photo, Vannesa Godfrey quickly flashed a light in her hand, then the trees behind her were ‘Light Painted’ with a flashlight. The long exposure ended up making her look like she was holding a wand. I love that she ended up looking ghost-like as well.
In this photo, a long exposure was used while Jesse held a “walking position” while an LED light wand moved in a wave pattern behind her.
More photos of the light wand and Jesse.
In this photo, the light LED light wand changed colors during a 10-second exposure.
Experimenting with long exposure was so incredible. I can’t wait to try this type of photography again.

You have such a great eye for painting with light! These long exposures are great! Your use of colors in the lighting adds another level of interest to the photos. I sure learned a lot from you!
